Please ensure you:
Access the site with care and ride at a reduced speed.
Park up either side of the path after it levels out near to, and after the Pavilion Café. Do not park on the sloping path which leads up to Mansfield Road end.
Be mindful of other groups onsite, usually including a 'Park Run' and pedestrian visitors.
Read the safety information and disclaimer that volunteers will be passing around, as this may have additional information contained within it.
Listen out for any last minute updates from the event organiser or one of his representatives regarding the route or ride-off.
First Aid and Medical Sweeper Vehicle will be sited in front of the Pavilion. Fire Engine(s) will be parked behind the Pavilion and access to them is via the steps.
Don't Drop Litter. We have never had an issue with Litter but could be charged if the Council has to clear up on our behalf. Simple rule is if you can't bin it then please take rubbish with you. Bins are near the Pavilion.
Discard of cigarette ends responsibly.

The 'Ride-Off' will commence at 10:00 promptly, signalled by Fire Service vehicle sirens and the old-fashioned but traditional waving of a Green Flag.
We ride out of the Forest Recreation Ground site at a reduced speed for safety reasons.
When exiting the site onto Mansfield Road we don't have automatic right of way as we don't close the road off. Please ensure you check it is safe to proceed onto the main road (as you would at any other time you were riding).
We do give way at junctions and roundabouts, and we stop for traffic lights in the usual manner. All road regulations and traffic laws must be adhered to. Under no circumstances is anyone to take it upon themselves to block a junction or roundabout (to the detriment of other road users) to enable bikes to proceed. It is illegal to do so.
If there in an incident en-route involving a motorbike (breakdown or accident) it is really important, where safe to do so, that we don't have loads of bikes stopping to assist and causing a blockage for bikes, other road users and emergency vehicles. It is expected that some will stop to assist, after all we're a biking community, but please ensure only an appropriate number of other bikers stop to assist, and only then if it isn't putting themselves at risk. There is a Medical Sweeper Vehicle at the back of the pack (supplied by PB Fire) that will stop to assist with medical emergencies. They will fend-off with blue lights and keep the scene safe. Unfortunately breakdowns aren't catered for by any recovery vehicle, so you must ensure you have your own means to get a recovery of your bike if you are unable to proceed.
The bike procession will invariably split into smaller groups as the initial larger group gets stopped at traffic lights etc. There is no requirement to try and 'catch up' with the group in front. In fact, having smaller groups arriving at Mansfield Fire Station (in what can be described as a phased approach) helps us to manage bikes entering the fire station yard and the overflow car park at the Mansfield Civic Centre.

Strictly NO PARKING AT THE FRONT OF THE FIRE STATION. It is appreciated in year's past that some parking was available at the front but we have identified this as a safety issue as it slows bikes accessing and egressing the site, so please don't park at the front of the station.
Look out for Egg Run Marshalls in Red or Yellow Hi-Viz Vests who will usher you in to the Station yard, accessed to the right hand side of the station through a green coloured double gate.
When the Fire Station Yard is full our Marshalls will direct you to park at the Mansfield Civic Centre Car Park, so please move on promptly to avoid unnecessary congestion on Rosemary Street.
Reduce you speed when entering the Fire Station. Be mindful of pedestrians and other bikes parking. We don't have specific parking spaces per bike, so please line up accordingly and leave room for each other.
Do not park in front of the left and right hand rear roller shutter doors of the Fire Station Appliance Room. These are designated for access/egress at all times and must not be blocked by any vehicles.
If you have no intention to remain at the event for long, after dropping your eggs off, we urge you to please park at the Mansfield Civic Centre Car Park and walk round to the station. This minimises the early departure of bikes from the Fire Station yard when people are still queuing to drop their eggs off and therefore reduces our risk of bike versus pedestrian or bike versus bike collisions. Thank you.
All bikes are parked, either at the Fire Station or Civic Centre Car Parks at the owner's risk. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service or Mansfield District Council cannot be held responsible for loss, damage or theft of any bike.
